Privacy Policy for NetVoice: Universal SIP Client
Effective date: 6 September 2026
NetVoice: Universal SIP Client (“NetVoice”, “the App”) is a SIP/VoIP communications application provided by Netsource Labs (“Netsource”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information NetVoice accesses, processes, stores, or transmits, why this information is required, and the choices available to users.
1. Information NetVoice may process
SIP account information
To connect to a SIP PBX or VoIP provider, NetVoice may process information such as:
- SIP username or extension
- SIP server or domain
- authentication username
- SIP password
- transport and network configuration
- voicemail and related account settings
SIP credentials are used to authenticate with the SIP server configured by the user or their organization.
Saved SIP passwords are protected using Android secure storage mechanisms.
NetVoice does not sell SIP credentials or use them for advertising.
Contacts
With permission, NetVoice can access contacts stored on the Android device in order to:
- display contact names during calls;
- match incoming and outgoing numbers to contacts;
- search and dial contacts;
- display contact photos where available.
Device contacts are primarily processed locally on the device and are not uploaded to Netsource merely because contact permission is granted.
If an organization provides a company directory through its PBX or communications infrastructure, directory information may also be retrieved from that organization’s server.
Call information
NetVoice may process call-related information including:
- phone numbers, extensions, or SIP addresses;
- incoming, outgoing, missed, and declined call information;
- call date and time;
- call duration;
- SIP account used for the call;
- call status;
- network and call-quality information such as jitter, packet loss, and latency.
Some call history may be stored locally on the device. Where PBX-based call history or company services are enabled, information may also be obtained from or stored by the configured PBX.
Voice and audio
NetVoice requires microphone access to make and receive voice calls.
Audio is transmitted between the device and the configured SIP/PBX, VoIP provider, media server, or other call participant as necessary to provide the call.
NetVoice does not use call audio for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Call recordings
If the user chooses to record a call, recordings are stored in the App's on-device recordings library.
NetVoice does not automatically upload call recordings to Netsource.
Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws regarding call recording and obtaining consent where required.
Device and application information
NetVoice may process technical information such as:
- device manufacturer and model;
- Android platform information;
- NetVoice application version;
- application package identifier;
- a generated device identifier;
- network and connectivity status;
- app permission status;
- push-notification status.
This information may be used for licensing, compatibility, diagnostics, security, and reliable operation of the App.
2. Commercial licensing information
Commercial versions of NetVoice communicate with the Netsource licensing service to activate and validate licenses.
During activation or license refresh, information may include:
- commercial license key;
- generated device identifier;
- device manufacturer and model;
- Android platform identifier;
- NetVoice package name;
- application version;
- licensing refresh credentials.
Licensing information is used only to:
- validate subscriptions or licenses;
- allocate licensed seats;
- prevent unauthorized use;
- manage activation and deactivation;
- provide offline licensing grace periods;
- maintain service security.
Sensitive licensing credentials are protected using secure device storage where applicable.
3. Push notifications
NetVoice may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to support incoming-call wake-up or other communication-related notifications when this feature is enabled and supported by the configured infrastructure.
For this purpose, a device push token and related technical information may be processed by Google Firebase and the configured push infrastructure.
Push notifications are used for App functionality and not for advertising.
Google processes Firebase-related information according to Google's own privacy terms.
4. SIP and PBX servers
NetVoice is designed to work with many third-party SIP servers, PBXs, and VoIP providers.
When the user configures such a service, information required for communication is transmitted directly to that service. This may include:
- SIP credentials;
- account identifiers;
- call signaling;
- phone numbers or SIP addresses;
- call metadata;
- voice/media traffic.
The privacy practices of a third-party SIP provider, PBX operator, employer, or organization are governed by that party's own privacy policies.
Netsource is not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated third-party PBXs or VoIP providers.
5. Network security and encryption
NetVoice supports different SIP and media configurations, including technologies such as:
- SIP over UDP;
- SIP over TCP;
- SIP over TLS;
- RTP;
- secure RTP where supported and configured;
- ICE, STUN, and TURN.
The level of encryption available depends on the user's SIP provider, PBX, network configuration, and selected security settings.
Therefore, not every possible SIP or media configuration supported by NetVoice is necessarily encrypted end-to-end.
Users and organizations handling sensitive communications should configure secure SIP signaling and secure media where supported.
6. Diagnostics
NetVoice includes diagnostic capabilities to assist with troubleshooting.
Diagnostic information may include:
- application and build version;
- Android/device model;
- permission state;
- SIP registration status;
- network/media configuration;
- call-quality metrics;
- push-notification status.
NetVoice's diagnostic support report is designed to exclude sensitive information such as:
- SIP passwords;
- TURN passwords;
- licensing refresh tokens;
- contacts;
- call destinations;
- call recordings;
- raw push tokens.
Local crash breadcrumbs may be stored on the device to assist troubleshooting. They are not automatically uploaded.
Diagnostic information is only shared externally when the user deliberately chooses to share it, unless otherwise stated in a managed enterprise deployment.
7. Information we do not sell
Netsource does not sell personal information collected through NetVoice.
NetVoice does not use personal information for:
- targeted advertising;
- advertising profiling;
- selling marketing lists;
- cross-app behavioral advertising.
NetVoice currently does not contain third-party advertising.
8. Permissions
Depending on features used, NetVoice may request Android permissions including:
Microphone
Required for voice calls.
Contacts
Used to display, search, and dial device contacts and identify callers.
Notifications
Used for incoming-call, missed-call, voicemail, and related notifications.
Bluetooth
Used to support Bluetooth headsets and other compatible call audio devices.
Network access
Required to connect to SIP servers, PBXs, licensing services, push services, and Internet-based VoIP services.
Permissions may be managed through Android Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the associated feature from working.
9. Local storage
NetVoice may store information locally, including:
- SIP account configuration;
- encrypted credentials;
- favorites;
- call history;
- application preferences;
- commercial license information;
- call recordings;
- diagnostic information.
Most locally stored information can be removed by deleting the relevant item, clearing the App's data, or uninstalling NetVoice.
Some information managed by a PBX, employer, licensing service, or VoIP provider must be removed through that service.
10. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide NetVoice services;
- validate licenses and subscriptions;
- maintain security;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- comply with applicable legal obligations;
- resolve support or contractual matters.
Local data remains on the user's device until deleted by the user, cleared by Android, or removed when the App is uninstalled, subject to Android backup and device-management behavior.
PBX and VoIP service providers may have separate retention periods.
11. Data deletion
Users may delete local NetVoice information by:
- removing SIP accounts;
- deleting call history or recordings where supported;
- deactivating a commercial license;
- clearing NetVoice application data;
- uninstalling the App.
Requests regarding information held by Netsource's licensing or managed services may be submitted using the contact details below.
For enterprise-managed accounts, some requests may need to be submitted through the user's organization or system administrator.
12. Third-party services
NetVoice may interact with services provided by third parties, including:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging;
- Google Play services;
- SIP and VoIP providers;
- enterprise PBXs;
- STUN/TURN servers;
- network and telecommunications providers.
Their processing of information is subject to their respective privacy policies and agreements.
13. Children's privacy
NetVoice is a professional communications application and is not designed or marketed specifically for children.
We do not knowingly use NetVoice to collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.
14. International processing
Because VoIP, cloud, Google services, SIP providers, and enterprise infrastructure may operate internationally, information may be transmitted to or processed in countries outside the user's country of residence.
Applicable safeguards depend partly on the infrastructure and service providers selected by the user or organization.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through NetVoice.
These measures include, where applicable:
- Android Keystore-backed credential protection;
- protected commercial licensing credentials;
- HTTPS communication with the Netsource licensing service;
- support for secure SIP and RTP configurations;
- restricted diagnostic information;
- no automatic upload of local crash breadcrumbs.
No Internet or telecommunications system can guarantee absolute security.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when NetVoice features, legal requirements, or data-processing practices change.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
